Hahahaha, one of my friends brought this to a British themed birthday party a few mths. ago. The other guests were horrified. :)

I wasn't sure if you were referring to the product or the Stop and Shop in Southie when you said, "Gross." I love our Ghetto Grocery Store!
As your loyal UK-resident reader, I have to say that the right spotted dick with a great custard on top can be absolutely delicious.However, a spotted dick that is microwaveable, found in a tin can and produced by Heinz will not be so good. Best avoided!If you ever come visit, I'll be sure to hunt some good spotted dick down for you!
When it comes to British cuisine, I am firmly pro Yorkshire Puddings and Pimm's, but am a staunch opponent of spotted dick.
Eileen, I had Yorkshire pud at lunch today and then made myself a nice Pimm's and Sprite for Happy Hour. All your favo(u)rites!
