that having an eye twitch? Especially if, like me, you have a weird eyeball phobia. Opthamologist or wearer of contact lenses I will never be.
I might have to start wearing a patch, though, if my eye twitch doesn't stop soon. It's driving me crazy!
Here's a link with everything you ever wanted to know about eye twitches, a.k.a. blepharospasms.

Your timing is amazing. I just commented to my labmates that my eye has been twitching a little bit this morning and driving me crazy, and we've all been talking about eye twitching now. glad to know it's nothing serious.
Eileen, Did you learn nothing in Nicaragua???? Eye twitching is a result of washing your face after doing anything even slightly strenuous for the eyes (agitado) including driving or looking at a computer. Mario still shakes his head in disapproval when I wash my face at night and anytime I get an eye twitch it just reaffirms his belief! But you go ahead and believe doctors if you want to...
-Kara :)
I have eye twitches too! I never knew they had a name and that...I guess I just never really talked about it.
"Occasional eye twitching is typically not a case for concern. Eye Twitching is associated with an abnormal function of the "basal ganglion" from an unknown cause. The basal ganglion is the part of the brain responsible for controlling the muscles." That clears everything up!
Sorry about the eye twitch, but you should totally start wearing the eye patch! Then you could be the pirate scientist..sailing the seven seas pillaging your way around the world, while studying microbes of foreign lands! arrrrrrrrrrrr!
I get them too. Sucks!
You could have someone (not me) squirt breast milk in your eye to heal it.

Eye twicth finanlly went away yesterday afternoon. Thank goodness! and I didn't even need anyone to echar una leche (gross).
Kara- My host family and neighbors used to FREAK OUT when I would take a bucket bath after running. (FYI: Nicaraguans have a strongly held belief that putting cold water on yourself when you are warm is extremely dangerous and causes a littany of ailments.) One time I came out of the baƱo and pretended I was blind, and all the kids started screaming. A mean joke, but funny as hell.
