The L.A. Times recently ran an
article on Trona, California, the small town on the edge of Death Valley where my dad grew up. I guess my dad wasn't exaggerating when he talked about the sand football field.
And now for something completely different...
Nicaragua has a
new national drink, the Macua. Flor de Cana sponsored a contest for a new national cocktail, and the winning drink, made with rum, guava juice, lemon juice, sugar, and ice, was invented by a pediatrician from Granada.
