Photos from the game: James Taylor sings the anthem, tipoff, Kim, me, and a whole lot of foam finger.
I liked what ESPN's J.A. Anande had to say about Boston and Celtics fans:
"I don't like being in Boston. I think it has the worst weather in the country (that's coming from a guy who lived in Chicago for 6 years). The street layout is a mess; terrible drivers. But I have to respect the Celtics fans, particularly when I was sitting in the lower bowl in the second half. They're into the game at all times. Not talking on their cell phones or making plans for afterward. Every word I heard throughout the second half involved the game, strategy, etc. They were on their feet about half the time. But man, I wish I had the alcohol concession in that building. Every time they showed a fan on the scoreboard screen, he or she was holding a beer."
Although due to the late start time, I think it was the first time in history the coffee lines were as long as the beer lines at halftime.

That's so awesome! You are definitely a true fan and deserved to be at that game. I heart the foam finger!
Yeah! Next time, no shirt under the celtics dress... it needs to be shown in all its glory!
A solid, well-executed game, although I was worried that Pierce and Allen wouldn't show up after the first half there, and after making his first three shots Cassell turned into a remorseless gunner as per his recent M.O. Still, the D really threw Kobe off after the break, so that's good, and Rondo didn't seem afraid to take open shots, which will be key in this series.
Also, the Pierce injury notwithstanding (which I expect will have more impact on the next game, after his leg freezes up), PJ Brown is the unsung hero of Game 1. Lots of huge boards from him, I thought.
Woo-Hoo! And you were there! Most excellent! Not enough exclamation points!!!!!!!!!!!!
Looks like fun!!!
I love the mini-foam finger.
How do the East Coasters feel about the worst NBA Finals schedule of all time? Tip off at 9, finish at midnight, every game on a school/work night.
I have to watch at a ridiculous time either way, but I'm sad there's no Friday or Saturday night game at all and I'm especially bummed there's no weekend day game! Very lame.
I was very sleepy at work on Friday, but this week is gonna suck big time, with games on Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning (for me).
i heart the dress-shirt. those koreans are killer tailors:)
The game was a blast. Kev, I agree that the 9PM start times are ridiculous. During the week I can understand the reasoning, with wanting to get the west coast audience and all, but there are 2 sunday games both schedule for 9PM. No excuse, Commissioner Stern!
