The Rise and Fall of Zima

I really enjoyed Slate's article about Zima, which was finally discontinued by MillerCoors this past October.

Although I was never much of a high school partier (during that time of my life, my alcohol intake generally consisted of sipping Kahlua drinks while watching Mystery Science Theater 3000), the two or three times I attended a cool kid party, I definitely had me some Zima.

And heck yeah I put Skittles in it.

Some of my fondest memories of my high school days definitely include Zima.

we used to put jolly ranchers in 'em, not skittles... our h.s. party staples always included zima, boone's (strawberry hill), mad dog, and a weird beer called red dog. i'm not sure if they still make it anymore, but i feel like i haven't seen it since (which is a good thing b/c it actually tasted like wet dog).

OMG my dad drinks Red Dog.
Still. I'm not kidding.

I drank a 6 pack of Zima, while sitting in my car, to get up enough nerve to go into the tattoo parlour to get my first tattoo. The Zima helped me ignore the fact I was the only homeowner in the place, definitely felt out of place.
I like Zima better than all the other flavored drinks that have come along after Zima paved the way.
sniff, sniff, gonna miss it....

Reen, your dad is my hero! Did you know the Red Dog logo upside-down is supposed to look like Batman giving a lady oral pleasure? Check it out next time pops pops one open! ;)

Aaaaah! Kel, I did NOT know that. Mrs. V, I also did not know that your first tattoo involved Zima. Cheers to that.
