For the record

You know how when you're a kid and you get a cone at the ice cream shop, and it falls on the floor, they give you another for free? Well, if you're an adult and you buy a six pack of beer at the liquor store and on your way out the bag breaks and the beer falls, shattering two of the bottles, you don't get new ones for free. Even if you make a Sad Face.

Yeah, it was sad. A crowd of smokers standing outside of a bar saw the whole thing are emitted a chorus of Awwwwws.

You got screwed. Any decent liquor store would have given you a new six pack. Now if when the bottles broke the cap on the top of the bottle was unaffected, i.e. still attached to a broken bottle they should have definitely given you a new six pack because they can write it off to the distributor as broken merchandise that clearly wasn't consumed. This also works with hard alcohol as well, if the seal is still in place on top of the bottle you are good to go. Maybe you should start a boycott of the liquor store?
