Fore! isn't just for Huey Lewis anymore

Michelle Wie, the 15-year old golf star from Hawaii, has announced her decision to turn professional. Normally I consider golf too boring to watch on TV, but the idea of seeing a 15-year old girl kicking A against a bunch of professional males on the golf course is pretty awesome.

How can you celebrate a girl who has done nothing but steal money from struggling pro male golfers? Every time Wie is invited to a PGA event, it is not because she qualified, but because she received a sponsor's exemption. This means a more deserving male golfer who is playing for his livelihood is left out. If she qualifies for the event like all the other men have to, she deserves to play, but playing as an amateur where she can't win any money, she has only stolen from someone more deserving. Also while there is something special about her talent, she should play on the LPGA tour. She only takes away from the LPGA when she decides she wants to play in a men's event. Also it's not like the men can play in an LPGA event.

My bad. I didn't realize that pro male golfers were so oppressed. Like it or not, Wie's presence on any tour will make it more interesting for casual fans, meaning more viewers, more advertising, and more money for everyone involved.

isn't she only hurting woman's golf by ditching it every chance she has to play in the men's tournaments? The PGA already has Tiger, the LPGA needs Michelle Wie. Even Annika only played with the guys once. Wie is only a figment of the media, the true LPGA rising stars are Natalie Gulbis, Paula Creamer and Morgan Pressel

Silly Michelle, I guess she didn't see the "No Women, No Minorities" sign posted outside the PGA.
